Meet Our Staff

Katie Mercer -  Certified Nutritionist:
Katie has always held passion for proper Nutrition and believes the role it plays in our lives is essential.  

From 1996-2003 Katie worked in corporate america as a Marketing and Client Training Manager where she conducted workshops to help small to medium sized business' streamline credit card and check transactions.  Other workshops included relationship building, networking and client retention.

In 2007 after her second child, Katie was left 50 lbs. over weight, tired and depressed. She suffered from Body Dysmorphic Disorder, a body image disorder characterized by persistent and intrusive preoccupations with an imagined or slight defect in one's appearance.  She started to change her diet and simply walk every day.  Soon, walking became running and before she knew it, she was doing marathons.  After 6 months she was down to a healthy weight, and has kept it off.  In the years following her transformation, another culprit reared it's ugly head, when she developed painful and embarrassing gastrointestinal problems.  This lead her on a 3 year journey to figure out that her digestive issues were stress related.  

Today, Katie specializes in working with busy Stay at Home Moms, Corporate Executives and Weekend Warriors who require proper Nutrition and Self Care.  Katie has two children who continually delight and inspire her every day.  A former marathoner, she spends her free time Hiking, Sailing and Backpacking and of course, Cooking.    




Jess Nalley - Paramedic Instructor:  
Jess began his career in the Navy as a Naval Warefare Specialist where he spent 8 years perfecting his attention to detail.  After his time in the Navy, he started working as an EMT while attending paramedic school. Jess joined CalFire in 2003 where he worked as a Firefighter until he found that teaching was his true calling.

Today, Jess teaches Emergency Medicine & CPR and works with our team to treat clients with Medical Nutrition Therapy, Disease Prevention and Emotional Eating.  He spends his time surfing, snowboarding, sailing, backpacking and hanging out with his Shipoo, Kilabyte.
